How long do they last?
Usually 4 to 6 weeks. The braids themselves can go longer, but those curly pieces start tangling and frizzing first. When the curls look tired, the whole style does.
Keeping the curls pretty
- Mist them with water and a little leave-in conditioner.
- Finger-detangle gently. No brushes, no combs.
- Sleep in a satin bonnet with your braids loosely gathered.
- Skip heavy oils on the curls; they weigh them down.
Human hair or synthetic curls?
Human hair curls look and feel more natural and hold up better, but they cost more. Synthetic curls are lighter on the wallet and still look great for a few weeks. Tell me your budget and I’ll help you choose.
