Knotless braids are one of my most booked styles. They’re light, they move, and they’re easier on your edges. Here’s how to get the most out of yours.
How long do knotless braids last?
About 6 to 8 weeks for most of my clients. Small braids usually go a little longer than large ones. Boho knotless, the ones with curly pieces, need more upkeep, so plan closer to 4 to 6 weeks.
On 4c hair they last just as long. Your new growth just shows a bit sooner, so lots of my 4c clients book their next style around week 6.
Can you wash knotless braids?
Yes, and you should. Focus on your scalp with a diluted shampoo, rinse well, and make sure they dry all the way. Wet braids that stay damp get heavy and can mildew.
Make them last longer
Wrap them at night. Satin scarf or bonnet, every time. Keep your scalp lightly moisturized and skip heavy grease. And go easy on super tight high ponytails, especially that first week.
When it’s time to take them down
Lots of new growth, frizz at the root, braids that feel heavy. Those are your signs. Book your next style a little before so you’re never stuck in between.
Knotless braids start at $140 for large, $180 for medium and $250 for small. Your final price gets set at your consultation, based on length, hair needed and any extras.
