Let’s talk money, because everybody wants to know before they book. Here are my starting prices, plus what makes a price go up or down.
My starting prices
- Knotless braids: large from $140, medium from $180, small from $250
- Box braids: from $150, medium from $170
- Cornrows: from $50
- Loc retwist: from $100, shoulder length from $125
- Starter locs: from $150
- Wig installs: from $120
- Kids: braids from $60, box braids from $100, cornrows from $45
What changes the price
Size is the big one. Smaller braids mean more braids, and more braids mean more hours. Length matters too. Waist length takes longer than shoulder length, and it takes more hair. Then there’s density, color, curly pieces for boho, and if you’re bringing your own hair or I’m buying it.
That’s why I set your final price at your consultation. Send me a picture of the look and I’ll quote it straight. No surprises at the end.
Deposits
A $50 deposit holds your date ($25 for kids’ styles and retwists), and it comes off your total. I take cash, Cash App, Zelle, card and Apple Pay.
Why my prices sit where they do
I’ve been doing hair for 27+ years. I price fair for LA because I want you back every few weeks, not once.
